The great Laymon
I discovered Richard Laymon in the late 80’s. A great writer, great stories, sometimes a little rappey. He became mildly successful in the US late in his career. He died young, at the age of 54 in 2001. Most of his success came from the UK.
The five best ever Laymon books, in my opinion are:
I have read most of his books but not all.

Dry Bar comedy is actually better than some popular stand ups.
An update about Send to Kindle
This is bummer news for me. Looks like I need to take an extra step when I buy old Mobi files and want to send them to my Kindle. I have to make them into EPUB files. Easy enough.
In the email they claim older MOBI documents can’t support the newest Kindle features. Well, I have an old Kindle. I don’t want a new one, this one works well.
Here’s the email I got, in case you missed it.
Dear Kindle Customer, Thank you for using the Send to Kindle service to send personal documents to your Kindle library. We wanted to let you know that starting August 2022, you’ll no longer be able to send MOBI (.mobi, .azw) files to your library. Any MOBI files already in your Kindle library will not be affected by this change. MOBI is an older file format and won’t support the newest Kindle features for documents. Any existing MOBI files you want to read with our most up-to-date features for documents will need to be re-sent in a compatible file format. Also, compatible formats now include EPUB (.epub), which you can send to your library using your Send to Kindle email address. We’ll also be adding EPUB support to the free Kindle app for iOS and Android devices and the Send to Kindle desktop app for PC and Mac. If you have any questions, please visit our help page or contact our Customer Service team. Regards, The Kindle Team |
Went to Amano Hashidate, the bridge in the sky.
What are the other beauty spots?
We took our dogs with us, which limited the places we could go. Some dog friendly zones were only for small, tiny dogs. Not a full Shiba Ken and a Golden Retriever.
These images are from my Instagram ( @threeand10 ) all with side notes on what is happening.
It took us 5 hours to get there because of this:
We exited the highway ASAP and took the back roads. This gave us lots of cool, mostly unknown, things to see. Unfortunately, the car we were following didn’t stop. Not even for souvenirs–which is the DONE THING in Japan. You go somewhere, and the day after your return you give a gift from the place you visited.
Not this time.
And the wife told a few neighbors about the trip. One even visited this morning to give us a gift of their trip the other day. Whoops.
There are a few videos on Instagram. Check it out if you want. I usually follow back, but not always.
Ukraine vs Russia
Based on the post I made yesterday, I was wondering if I could find anything on Ukraine trying to take back Crimea. They (Ukraine officials) knew this could start a war with Russia. I found an article from World Socialist Site dated March 19, 2021.
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2021/03/20/ukra-m20.html
Ukraine approves strategy to “recover” Crimea, threatening all-out war with Russia
Jason Melanovski 19 March 2021
Announcing the move on Twitter, Kuleba wrote, “The signal is clear: we don’t just call on the world to help us return Crimea, Ukraine makes its own dedicated and systemic efforts under President [Volodymyr] Zelensky’s leadership.”
Read the rest at the link above.
So, I believed–like everyone else–that Russia attacked the Ukraine without reason. Putin wanted more land. This is possible. So, that’s what we know.
Russia has a different take. This was confirmed by Swiss NATO officer, or something like that. Watch the video. It should start at 4.00 but in case it doesn’t, watch the entire thing anyway.
You might want to remove that Ukraine flag from your bio. From further reports, the head of NATO (USA) is using Ukraine as a proxy and have sent missiles into strategic Russian sites.
From the video “Russian officials say that they consider that they are currently “at war” with NATO and the U.S. and that a nuclear war is a real possibility. This is not hyperbole. The U.S. continues to escalate war and Russia is noticing.”

Is Biden and the rest of NATO itching for world war 3? Sure, sounds like it. Fuckers. One nuclear bomb can destroy the world or radiate most of it. The radiation will travel on the wind and sweep across the world, from the US to UK to Europe to Asia to Russia to China to Japan (I’m fucked), and it will pollute the water and the food, and the soil we use to grown food.
Welcome to the Thunder Dome.
